We have a hectic Sunday. We visited mom at noon time. After that we went to Science.07 X-periment! exhibition at Marina Square. Ming Liang, as usual, was crazy about the Science shows and exhibitions. He was literally hopping from one point to the another point like a dragonfly. Ming Xuan liked the bouncing balls made from a kind of polymer, using just cornflour, glue and borax.

I feel that this year Science carnival seems to be on a  smaller scale as compared to previous years. Nevertheless, there were still some good exhibits and shows. For example, there was a nice exhibit on levitated superconductor zooming around a track. I particularly like the show “Magical Maths and Science How” performed by Mr. Eddie Goldstein. It was a superb performance, combining magic and science. I hope to learn some tricks and give a try in the future.

After the show, we went to watch RATATOUILLE at GV Marina. It is a hilarious animated movie with refreshing storyline and characters. Our whole family really enjoyed the movie. Another great movie from PIXAR.

We visited the 7000 years of Chinese invention last weekend at Science Center. It is kind of eye opening especially for the kids who seldom exposed to Chinese culture and stuff.

Today (17 Mar 07) we climbed the tallest hill in Singapore – Bukit Timah Hill. Believe it or not….it is the first time in my 35+ years to come to this Bukit Timah Reserve. It is the first time for Ming Liang and Ming Xuan too. Second time for Chew Hoe within one month. He did his first climb with his colleagues 3 weeks ago.

As a family, we took about 40mins to reach to the summit. Along the way, Ming Liang kept saying “Never give up, never give up” . He really looked tired while he was climbing the hill and was really delighted when he reached the top. Ming Xuan, as usual, was full of energy. He was leading the pack. Unlike his brother, he did not look tired at all. He kept saying ” Come on… come on”, urging everyone to hurry up

The climb down the hill was easier. It only took us 25mins to reach the bottom. Maybe because it was getting dark and we all fastened our steps so that we would not be caught walking in the darkness. We were almost like running down the steep slope. Ming Xuan was almost going to fall because he was running too fast. Ming Liang was trying to “overcome the pull of the gravity force”, as he said.

Besides going to Bukit Timah reserve, we also went to the nature park beside it. Unfortunately, we all cannot remember the name of the park. The park has some construction going on. A new playground is being built and will be ready by end Mar. We will be back for the playground. While walking in the jungle, we saw squirrels and a Komodo dragon! It was very interesting to see the dragon in the wild jungle.

Overall, the trip was enjoyable. We all had a great time! Even though our legs are tired, we are all very proud of ourselves for climbing the TALLEST hill in Singapore. Big achievement for the kids.

Another great zoo excursion!!

The whole family has not been to the zoo for a long time. This is a nice trip.
