I attended the Novellus Tech Symposium. Couldn’t really pay attention to the presentations. A. I was pretty tired as I slept late the night before. B. I felt the presentations were not that great either. However, the best things about attending seminars are always the chance to meet up with all the old friends and the nice food. There was a nice bouquet of roses on each table at the luncheon.

I attended the Applied Material Tech Forum at the Marina Mandarin Hotel. It was a big friend gathering to me. I met many old STM and Chartered friends and ex-colleagues, as well as other friends and ex-colleagues working in other companies like SSMC and IME. The vendor tech forum is kind of like a magnet that pulls everyone together. The food was also good. We have a Chinese set meal for luncheon. Very interestingly, there was a table filled half from Chartered folks, and half from STM folks. I was the only one that knows all of them.

Soik Ching and me woke up at 4am for the Singapore Bay Run. Poor Soik Ching has to drive me there This morning is quite a easy run. I took slightly less than 2 hr to complete. Don’t really feel the challenge for half-marathon now. The struggling part usually comes after the first 20 km. So, let’s get ready for the 42.195km Stan Chart marathon in the early Dec!!

Jian had organized a barbecue cum pot-luck party at Warren on the Singapore National Day. My colleagues brought their family and kids. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool. Ming Liang and Ming Xuan were also have fun with their new weapon – water balloon bomb.

Everyone brought some food to the party. We brought water melon. It was one of the hot favorite and finished up pretty fast. All of us like the pastas brought by Martin family.

We have our AMD team building today. We left office early around 3pm for bowling at SuperBowl at Marina, then we went to Marina Square for a sumptuous buffet dinner at Yaki Yuki restaurant.

Finally, Chew Hoe completed his MBA degree from U21Gloabl. There was convocation ceremony held in Fullerton Hotel on 28 Jan 2007. The kids and I went to Chew Hoe’s graduation to join him in this joyous occasion. This was the first time Chew Hoe met all his MBA course-mates. Now he can really put a face to the name

We have a JC CG11/84 class gathering at Tzee Teck’s house on the 24 Feb. It is sooo… good to meet up with all the old classmates…:) Keep it up as an annual event.

Hurray!! Finally I participate in the half-distance triathlon. Hope to go for full triathlon next year.
